In a move that has left many fans wondering, the San Francisco Giants have traded 27-year-old RHP Mike Gardiner to the Pittsburgh Pirates. In return, the Giants receive 29-year-old RHP Mark Leiter and 26-year-old C Francisco Cabrera.

So far in his career Gardiner has 11 wins and 15 losses and a 4.93 ERA.
