The Cincinnati Reds went home winners at Arlington Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Mike Mussina. Mussina silenced the Texas Rangers, enabling Cincinnati to grab the 6-1 win. Texas, at 31-87, has lost 5 straight.

Cincinnati took a 3-1 lead on Eric Davis's 90th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Davis hit in the top of the seventh, left Texas pitcher Fernando Valenzuela visibly frustrated.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Texas manager Sean Norman.
