Texas Trades Zupcic for Orlando's Wells

It is being reported in Orlando that the Sun Rays and the Texas Rangers have agreed on a trade. According to anonymous sources 29-year-old LHP David Wells will be dealt to the Rangers in return for 26-year-old CF Bob Zupcic.


For his career Wells has 22 wins and 41 losses with 1 saves. His ERA stands at 5.03 and he has fired third strikes past 493 batters in 672.1 innings while giving up 268 walks.
Colorado Rockies Ship Bullett to Pittsburgh

It's all done except the paperwork. The Colorado Rockies and the Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to a trade that will send 24-year-old LF Scott Bullett to Pittsburgh, while 30-year-old RHP Scott Arnold and 32-year-old RHP Kelly Downs will be shipped to Colorado. A top front office executive with the Rockies described the trade talks as "quick and easy." "We're glad to get this deal done. We think it's something that helps our ball club and it didn't take too long at all to sort this one out," he said.


Downs has crafted a 70-54 won-lost record in his career with a 3.76 ERA.
Kansas City-Orlando Trade: Olin for Young

The Baseball News Network is reporting that Kansas City and Orlando have agreed in principle to a swap that will send 27-year-old RHP Steve Olin to the Sun Rays with 28-year-old LHP Cliff Young joining the Royals. Kansas City general manager Daniel Drucker would not confirm the trade, but a team representative close to the negotiations said the deal is official and is now only awaiting approval from the league.
